It takes a lot of equipment to put in a vineyard.

I bent 240 of these eye bolts with a torch to make the trellis wire holders.

1/4 mile of sucker rod to make end posts and support posts.

This is what is called a jig. I used it to bend the end posts into a triangle type shape.

Rebar to support every vine.

This is what an endpost looks like. I went this route because digging holes around here through solid rock is a pain. I could use a hammer drill and just drill a 3/4 hole and drive these in.

These guys did amazing work. Tree work is dangerous and they made it look easy.

These guys also dug all of my holes. They used a jackhammer…

The vine holes need to be a certain size and this bucket was about the right size.

It’s all rock around here.

I got in on the tree action for some of the smaller trees.

Rainbow colors in case you couldn’t tell. With a few additions.

This is a pigtail. You use it to tie rebar together in concrete. I used rebar ties for lots of stuff on the trellis.

These posts are designed using for the VSP(verticle shoot positioning system). This allows you to pull out the catch wire and align the shoots over time.

Watering the holes before planting.
alter-text
I had a load of composted rice hulls brought in to use as filler in the holes because we had so much rock we couldn’t reuse.
